Artemkina S U M M A R Y The nessesity of complex approach in utilisation of forest resourses made more actual progress of forest-biochemical direction with the aim to utilisate biological active compounds of foliage and bark, primarly of coniferous species. An efficient utilisation of these large-capacity of forest resourse must based on detailed study of chemical composition of parts of woody tissues, analysing the properties of physicochemical and phisiological activity of individual compounds. Review of literature data on contents of phenolic compounds in Picea species is given. These compounds becomes dominant quantitatively as well as qualitatively in comparison with the extractive compounds of coniferous plants and may be considered not only as chemotaxonomical characteristics of Picea species but also as a potential plant material in chemical processing. 31
